Friday 14th December, 7.30pm at St Mary's RC Church, Glastonbury

Christmas concert with a new flavour

Cantilena Choir of Glastonbury is never short of original ideas for concerts and this year is no exception. As a change from the plethora of carol concerts and Messiah performances we have given a whole new flavour to this December’s concert.

‘Joyeux Noel’ brings the music of French Composers of the 20th and late 19th centuries to the forefront. From the lilting ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’ by Fauré and the ever popular ‘O Holy Night’ to the mysterious ‘O Sacrum Convivium’ by Messiaen, this will be a Haute Cuisine concert to tempt the musical palate.

We are showcasing St Margaret’s Hospice as part of this concert and the audience will hear a little bit about their wonderful work and have an opportunity to donate to the cause. St Margaret’s pride themselves on being patient centred, compassionate, respectful, brave, self-aware, informed and driven.

Even with a French theme, no Christmas concert will be complete without mince pies and mulled wine. We are very grateful to Burns the Bread for the delicious mince pies and to The Grape and the Good for their generous donation of wine.
